Breathe~

It’s something that we think of as being automatic. We just assume our body is doing it correctly. But if your body IS having trouble doing it, you will notice…….right away!  What is it? Breathing.  The way you breathe affects your whole body. Not breathing correctly causes your nervous system to become unbalanced, your airways to get tighter ( making your blood vessels constrict, causing high blood pressure), less oxygen goes to your cells (which in turn causes the cells to stress); and your heart, brain, and muscles will not function as they should. When we are sick; or in pain , our breathing is often the first thing that is affected. The tenseness in our bodies cause us to unconsciously hold our breath, trying to deal with the joint discomfort, lowering  our blood oxygen, causing more discomfort. It becomes a vicious cycle. Stress in and of itself is also a huge contributing factor to problems with our respiratory systems.  And then there are days like today, where I have vertigo so badly that even turning my head makes me ralph my toenails up. That’s a whole other level of sick and stressed, and breathing well can make the difference in how long that lasts, and the severity of it. The thing to remember is panicking , ramping your body up, and depriving your body of air will worsen ANY other thing you have happening. So when in doubt……………breathe!  with ❤ and 🙂 and as always ((HUGS)) ~ Ruby J.
